I’ve been photographing this beautiful family every fall for four years now. And I always look forward to our session. They come dressed in the perfect colors, and they have fun as a family. And it’s so fun to see how the kids have grown. We always get many wonderful images that they add to their wall collection. This year was no different. I’ve only had time to process this one image, but couldn’t wait to share it with them.

This fun family wanted my favorite kind of family portrait. A real picture of them being who they are and doing what they do best. Enjoying each other on a sunny morning in the park. I loved it. And I think they did too! And now they’ll have these photos to remind them.

Her name is Ava. I especially love the photo of her with her mother in front of the window. The tree outside the window reminded me of the new little branch that was just added to their family tree. Precious. And even though her mother tried for a while to get her to close her eyes, she was determined not to close them. And she finally did, but only for a brief moment. And then she was like a sleeping angel.

This sweet little boy was so perfect for his first photo shoot. And just look at how beautiful he is. He has the most kind mother and father, and you can just see that in his face. I love him already.

This is my second shoot with Jameson. Both times I have gone to his home. I love photographing children in their own environment. Some of my favorite images come out of sessions like this. This first images is one of my favs for sure.

Addison is just as sweet and precious as she was the first time I photographed her. She lives in New Jersey, so it’s been a while. And oh so fun to see what a beautiful girl she is growing to be. She was fascinated by the big wonderful tree. She kept looking up and asking how a person might climb it. And I’ll bet it won’t be long before she will be climbing trees. She’s already pretty strong.

Her grandmother was with us, and she told me that this tree was a favorite of hers when she was a little girl. And since that time it has just continued to grow out in all directions.

We crossed the street to take photos along that iron fence. Addison’s grandmother told her of how she walked along that same sidewalk, next to the iron fence on her way to school when she was young.

Addison’s friend Roman came along with his mother. Their mothers are friends, so of course we had to get some photos of the group.

This little guy was so good during his first photographic session. He slept through most of it. But when he woke, I could see how he has earned the reputation for making facial expressions that make him look like a grumpy old man. So cute!

“Thomas is here.” Those were the words his big sister greeted me with when I entered their home.

Big brother had Daddy’s full attention at the end of the shoot. I love these photos. Love this family.

She is the best big sister I’ve ever seen. And he loves her so much. She makes him laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing them and their relationship.

In their own backyard

I had a great time playing with these cute little children this morning in their backyard. The sisters greeted me as I pulled up to their street. They were pretty excited about my visit. And when their mom told them that all we wanted from them was for them to just to play in their backyard, they were pretty cool with that. But little brother wasn’t so sure. At first he didn’t want me to even look at him. It took a while, but he eventually decided that I was okay to play with. He even made some pretty funny faces for me. I had a great time and look forward to visiting them again, after their little brother arrives in five weeks.
